How long have you been a Realtor®?

I became a licensed REALTOR® on Oct. 22, 2021.

What did you do before you became a Realtor®?

I attended Eastern Washington University and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a minor in Philosophy. While attending college, I worked in the insurance industry.

What were the life events that lead you into becoming a Realtor®?

From an early age, I was interested in the idea of business and entrepreneur- ship. After graduating from high school, I worked in several customer service jobs, but I wanted a job that would help me build real-life business skills. So I worked in the insurance industry for three and a half years during college.

Why did you become a Realtor®?

My initial thought was that when I completed my bachelor’s degree I would go into pharmaceutical sales. With input and encouragement from my mentors, I started researching real estate as a potential career opportunity. The more I researched real estate, the more it seemed to “fit” with my life goals and personality. I began to see I could take a real estate career in the direction I desired as opposed to a stricter corporate structure.

Who has influenced you the most when thinking of becoming a Realtor®?

There are multiple individuals that have helped me along my career path, but my closest mentors are Dan Cantillana, owner of Geico Insurance Spokane and Rick Flann, REALTOR®/owner of Roof Maxx Spokane.

What are you passionate about right now in your business?

I live on the north side of Spokane in the Mead/Colbert area. I love the community around me with its wonderful mix of suburban and rural lifestyles. It’s close to Green Bluff but remains a relatively short drive to downtown Spokane. I’m really enthusiastic about selling real estate in this part of town. In a broader sense, I find immense satisfaction in helping people solve problems. And honestly, for most people, real estate transactions are difficult to understand and execute. Along with the transactional side of real estate, I am passionate about educating homeowners so they can understand the true value of their property. Understanding home value directly relates to informed decisions pertaining to and why that selling, refinancing, establishing a line of credit or planning for retirement. I am also passionate about building relationships with people. I want a client base that wants to stay with me throughout their life changes — from first-time home ownership, second home upgrade, and their retirement dream home.

What has been the most rewarding part of your business?

Many people think of real estate as a transactional business — showing a client some homes, throwing a FOR SALE sign up in the front yard and concluding 30 to 90 days later with SOLD sign — transaction complete. Although there is some validity in this idea, it misses the most rewarding part of our business, that of essentially living life with your client for the duration of the process. Sometimes this shared life goes on for months and months. At times you talk to your clients more than your own family members. Just like a family, you may experience ups and downs. But at the end of the transaction, many times you build life-long friends, and that is certainly the most rewarding part of real estate.

What was your biggest challenge as a Realtor®?

The biggest challenge as a REALTOR® so far is the time in the day and making sure that all of your tasks get checked off the box. Especially now that business is ramping up I have to be extra diligent about allocating my time accordingly.

How does real estate fit into your dreams and goals?

Honestly, I don’t necessarily know what all of my long-term dreams and goals are. What I do know is that I love people and love real estate and will continue to dedicate my career to this industry in some capacity, unless the Lord calls me elsewhere.

What’s your favorite part of being a Realtor®?

Real estate is never boring! Real estate is as different as every person and every property that is sold. Being a REALTOR® is incredibly dynamic. I enjoy keeping up with an ever-changing industry. I love constantly learning new things and meeting new people. Define success. I define success as constantly achieving and setting new goals.

Tell us about your family:

I am newly married to my wonderful wife, Stephanie, who is a nurse. God totally blessed me with such a wonderful and amazing person. I was born in Incheon, South Korea, and was adopted when I was 7 months old. I have always lived on the north side of Spokane. I have two wonderful parents, Stephanie and Christian Perreiah, who are both educators. I have two younger brothers, Silas and Nathan. Silas plays football at Eastern Washington University, and Nathan just graduated from high school. We are a sports-loving family, primarily football and track and field. We enjoy family gatherings that center on good food and fun conversation.

Favorite books and/or favorite music?

I love reading autobiographies, especially those of famous athletes. I’ve read autobiographies since I was about 9 years old. I also enjoy reading books on the economy, leadership and career enhancement.

What are your hobbies and interest outside of the business?

I enjoy spending time with my wife. We like to go on walks and watch movies. We also like to take drives. We are planning on some mini-vacations this year. We just recently returned from Disneyland. I also enjoy exercising, golfing, and spending time with my friends and family.

What do you want to be remembered for?

I want to be remembered as someone that has strong ethics and is a loyal and trustworthy friend.
